Startup Summer Fair
In mid-June HumanIPO sponsored an event which was organized together with Connect Estonia to introduce new startup companies in Estonia. Our purpose was to engage entrepreneurs and investors in order to help them build personal contacts and widen their networks, which helps the entrepreneurs get useful feedback for their newborn ideas. The interest towards the event was significant and the tickets were gone before we noticed.
The startups were eager to show their innovative products and services. There were a lot of thoughts and business card exchanged that evening in restaurant Platz.
Toggl presented their time tracking software, Goliath Wind introduced a new low-cost solution for high power wind turbines, HomeView Solutions showed ways to use 2D and 3D visualization services for online furniture stores and Teooria demoed their e-training solution for driving license schools. Aiming to ease the life for businesses, Agrii explained how to better keeping track of agreements, proposals and meeting notes in an effective way.
The guests seemed to have a lot of fun with the urban two-wheeler Exo Bike, which those who wanted to, could try out on spot. We were extremely pleased that Steam Republic made an effort to come to the event all the way from Finland to show a mobile direct-to-fan marketing solution for the music business.
Offering a fun solution to keep warm during the harsh Estonian winters, Scarfmaker introduced a tool that allows users to create their own designs for scarfs, hats, sweaters, blankets etc. That could probably keep you out of trouble when your boss has a birthday.
Also Kratid, who only came up with their business idea in April during Garage48, were there with the toys which can be created online.
To see 10 new start-ups in one room was a great thing. Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves and we are really hoping that Start-up Summer Fair will become a yearly tradition.
